Williamsburg - Restored Colonial Capital of Virginia. Walk the
same streets trod by our 18th century founders, Thomas Jefferson, George
Washington, Patrick Henry, John Marshall.
James River Plantations - Landmark plantations (Westover, Berkeley,
etc.) just west of Williamsburg offer tours and Bed & Breakfast lodging.
Jamestown - First permanent English settlement in The New World
(1607). 6 miles from Williamsburg.
Yorktown - Site of last battle of the American Revolution where
the English general, Cornwallis surrendered, ending the American struggle
for independence. 13 miles from Williamsburg.
Richmond - Capital of Virginia and of The Confederate States during
the Civil War. 60% of the battles of The Civil War were fought in Virginia.

Norfolk/Virginia Beach - Major seaport and resort oceanfront.
Home of the U. S. Navy's 6th Fleet. 43 miles from Williamsburg.
